This was a complex Ash tree removal job in Hinderwell, Whitby.
There were several mature Ash trees in the caravan park at the rear of the Badger and Hounds pub in Hinderwell. All of them were in poor condition, primarily due to ash dieback.
The site was very constricted, with numerous caravans under the trees, meaning conventional removal methods would have been extremely difficult, slow and labour intensive. We decided that the best way forward was to bring in a specialised crane, with a grapple saw to dismantle them. This gave us the advantage of increased speed, efficiency, control (putting the branches down where we wanted them) and more importantly safety as no climbers were required !
The staff worked really hard, the project went smoothly and was completed within the two days as planned.
