Removal of a dangerous split tree

We were called to inspect this tree in Saltburn by the sea. It was a really nice Macrocarpa, but unfortunately we spotted a serious problem with it. The smaller of the two stems had split away & was ready to fail completely. You can see from the picture (below) of the stump that it was on borrowed time.

Within a few days we had already notified the council & were on site. We strapped the two stems together and the team pulled a long day, carefully dismantling it a little piece at a time. No damage to the underlying structure and leaving the garden clean and tidy as always, of course.

With the tree extending so far over the gazebo we had to think & rig the branches carefully to avoid any damage.

The stump shows just how badly the tree was splitting!!

Tidy finish as always.
